VoiceStream Wireless is a PCS phone service provider that entered the Northwest market in 1996. Schommer & Sons was contracted to complete the tenant improvement work for their retail sales stores located in the metropolitan Portland area. We completed 11 Portland area stores during a 7 month period in 1996.

Following the success of the Portland area project, Schommer & Sons was selected to complete the Seattle and Spokane area build out. The eight Seattle area stores and Spokane's three stores were completed over a 6-month period during 1998 and 1999. The total contract value of all the tenant improvement work was approximately $2.6 million. Change orders were less than 5% of the contracted value. Each metropolitan area project was accomplished using a fast track schedule with each site being completed concurrently. The Portland area project site locations ranged from Vancouver, Washington to Eugene, Oregon. Seattle area locations spanned from Bellingham to Olympia, Washington. Each project was completed on time and within the contract budget.

General contractor services included scheduling, demolition, installation of carpentry finishes, and the critical coordination of all subcontractors to meet the owner's aggressive occupancy deadlines.
