Nextel, a national wireless communications service provider has contracted with Schommer & Sons to construct telecommunication sites throughout the Pacific. These project sites have varied from raw land mountain top builds to tenant improvement re-models in urban downtown locations. Between August 1996 and November 1999 Schommer & Sons completed 114 sites for Nextel, valued at approximately $10.5 million. These projects were located in the following areas:

• Oregon: Many locations throughout the state from Astoria to Mt. Hood and Portland south to Siskiyou Pass.
• Washington: Southern Vancouver to the coast. Central Washington: Yakima Valley to the Tri Cities. Eastern Washington: Spokane south to the Oregon state line.
• Idaho: Panhandle area from Couer d'Alene to Sandpoint.

This work was contracted on a Guaranteed Maximum Price contract. At each location, Schommer provided preconstruction services including estimating, value engineering, and coordination of Nextel purchased materials and equipment. Construction services included responsibility for construction of the complete site, scheduling and coordination of utilities, and scheduling and maintaining site completion deadlines in the proper sequence to meet Nextel's required "on air" dates. All projects were completed on schedule.
