In 2001, Cricket, a subsidiary of Leap Wireless contracted with Schommer & Sons to expand their network of wireless communication in Idaho, Eastern Washington, Oregon, Northern Nevada and Northern California. During this Schommer has completed approximately 70 sites during 9 months.
The types of construction vary from co-locates at monopole and lattice tower sites, to rooftop applications on existing buildings, or raw land constructed sites. The average duration of build was from 2-3 weeks and varied with particular details of the site.
Schommer specializes in constructing multiple sites simultaneously or in series within a regionalized area. Normal construction management includes the Schommer Project Manager, a Superintendent, Skilled Tradesman and subcontractor crews.
Schommer also provides materials management for materials supplied by Owner or the Construction Management Consultant. Additional procurement duties are supplied as a value added service. Schommer expects to be invited to participate in additional business in Montana, Colorado, Arizona and Alaska during 2002 - 2003.
